Native Grasses and Wildflowers: Custom Mixes

Description

All major grasses and forb (wildflower) mixes are available are available at Naylor Seed Company and sold on a pure live seed basis. We offer 30 custom mixes that fall into the following: CP2, CP23, CP25, CP28, CP33, CP42.  Custom mixes designed by the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and individual species are sold by the pound.

Some of the more popular native grasses include: Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Little Bluestem, Side Oats Grama, Canadian Wild Rye, and Dakota Switchgrass.

Native warm-season grasses complete most of their growth after mid-June and exhibit ideal grazing conditions in July and August. These grasses are used in pastures, crop protection programs, and wildlife cover. Weed control during slow establishment is crucial, and grazing is not recommended lower than 6-8 inches.
